we're seeing the edge to the butler area into dry ridge and williamstown. thalmus, you're dry. areas in georgetown and areas east of there, hanging on to mostly cloudy skies. temperatures near 70 degrees. as you could see, this is moving north and east. we will continue to see the shield of rain. i expect to have some soggy conditions later in the evening. and we're down to 2 1/2 miles, visibility in hamilton. temperatures are around 60. and 63 in middletown and 61 from batavannion. as we continue to track rain for tomorrow as well. how much you could expect through the day tomorrow and as well as the entire weekend on monday. that's coming up in 10 minutes. local breaking news alert now.

charged with covering up an off duty accident by another cop has been acquitted. officer jason cotterman were charged with charged with derecollection of duty. they found him not guilty. and man finds himself in the middle of gun target. >> neighbors are left to wonder, if more violence are left. and in the yard of a home, in east price hill. givens was shot and killed. investigators aren't sure when the shooting happened and no one was arrested. hours after the body was found, another one found him the target nearby. megan talked to him and she's in the newsroom with more on the gun violence. megan.

a 23-year-old man was found shot to death. this afternoon, more gunfire. that guy dodged the bullet. i talked to him what went down. he tells me he and some friends were standing in warsaw avenue when a carful of guys started firing. he ran scared he would be hit. he ended up running towards a utility pole. he hit his head. you saw the bandage around his head. he said he didn't get a good look at the car or who was shooting at him. he thinks what happened this morning, was related to the murder of his friend. >> i know it was connected. i took off. i know the bullets was coming. i took off. >> he tells me he feels lucky he wasn't hit by the bullets and plans to lay low. rob, back to you.

if you have any information on the killing of jamar givens. you don't have to give your name. you can't give cash for clues. 18-year-old from westchester township will spend 16 years in prison. the judge imposed a lifetime driving suspension on tristin lacy. lacy pleaded guilty to aggravated homicide for the cash that happened day after christmas. lacy slammed into a pole and tree killing mark valentine. and local couple accused of letting their children live in horrible conditions. they were convicted of child endangering. today, the judge sentenced them to 90 days in jail. the couple won't have to serve it if they continue to get counselling and follow the instructions of the agency. we first told you about the story in january. the children were removed from

went to check on them. officers found piles of garbage, dirty clothing and cat feces and the tightest avenue home. the children have been staying with grandmother in dayton. a neighborhood crime alert from northern kentucky. a woman handed a teller a note at the heritage bank. and demanding $5 thousand. and about 20 minutes later, she and two others were stopped on kyle lane after a florence officer spotted the car where three people were arrested. vanity and larry mobley, from the cincinnati area, are charged with robbery. they are held at the detention center. >> local pioneer is honored. city council renamed the 100 block of walnut street as mary anne spencer way. spencer was the first african-american woman elected to council. that's just not it. she was the first female

sandusky county jail in fact, this was the department's second day of training with it. the cameras spotted the escapee and kept close watch as the officers zone in and caught their man. they plan to open a cargo hub. and amazon that has a major distribution center in hebron, plans to move a 737 to move merchandise. it was hit hard when dhl move its hub in '09 when things layoffs. cincinnati water works is trying to figure out how much it will cost and how long it will take to replace all the water lines in hamilton county. crews were out replacing a line in clifton this morning. about 18 thousand, 7 percent of the water lines are still made of lead.

buildings, rather before 1927, when lead lines were outlawed in the city. lead has been linked to possible health problems in flint, michigan. water works will replace lines it owns but homeowners are responsible for replacing lead lines inside their properties. if you are not sure whether a pipe is lead, you could do a simple test. scratch the pipe with a coin or key. if it becomes shiny and scratches easily, the pipe is made of lead. >> the new chip technology on credit cards could make it tougher when you buy gift cards. you may have to pay cash or buy smaller denomination. the chip technology means retailers are responsible for fraudulent purchases. many of them are not using the chip enabled card readers. stores without them are asking for cash or limiting how many gift cards could be purchased in a 24 hour span. the national grocer's

mostly cloudy skies. we have rain through hamilton county. heavier near white oak through south eastern portions of northern kentucky and boone county. through warren, all of butler, we're seeing some light to moderate rain, up 75 and 71. heavy right to eastern butler county. we have more widespread rain through connorsville, to dearborn county and ohio and switzerland county. and williams town, in the edge. this will continue, the outskirts of the showers. and a little while longer, and adams county as well. as mason and robinson county. and it's going to stay kind of

cincinnati and points west and northwest. you could see it's moving along 71 to the north and east. you could see the bumps in the line of showers. we're going to dry out a little bit in the next couple of hours. times. and this rain stretches all the way down to louisiana and texas. they are dealing with a slight chance of severe weather down there. we will continue to see plain old rain this evening. temperatures right now, mazeville, 69 degrees. 68 in west union. same for peebles. and you look to the -- towards cincinnati, where it's 60 degrees. we've seen rain for the longest time period from brookville. and we'll stay around 60. someplaces will be cooler to the northwest of cincinnati and definitely will be warmer to the southeast of cincinnati around brown county, highland, down to

we may get rain a little later tonight. most of it will stay later tonight. next 24 hours, show you what's happened. we'll still be tracking rain at times, especially around cincinnati and points westward. and overnight period, backed off over in cincinnati. through tomorrow morning, expect rain in someplaces, will continue to see boundary. that's where the rain becomes heavy through the morning and evening hours. then the boundary sinks. and it suppresses the weather and stays to the south. we'll see a break in the rain on friday with a little return on friday. tomorrow morning, we're at 61. we're at 60 at 4:00.

if you live in places like brown county, robinson, mason county, you will be dry for a while longer. that's where we have temperatures in the 60s, while we're sitting around 60, 59 degrees, where we're seeing the rain. we have rain along 71. this rain is moving right up 71. this is in red bank road. and we will track the rain all the way to louisiana, and we'll continue to move the rain, between cincinnati, portions west and southeast. and we're still dry, we're still really warm. we'll start to see the notch there, of dryer air move into the area. and i do expect a little break here around 7:00 or so.

edge of rain, kind of stretch back from the thalmus area, northwest of the thalmus area up towards the northern brown. williamstown, we have heavy rain between critton to butler, alexandria, seeing all of that, northern kentucky, around the 275 loop. we have steady rain toward norwood, milford as well. that edge, right along the amellia, newtonville, in the edge of sprinklers. and norton county, seeing the edge. and lynchburg and portions of northwestern highland county. we have steady rain toward hamilton county and through the western counties like connorsville, liberty, down to brookville indiana. and points into ripley and dearborn county. we will continue to watch the frame, heavy at times for some

you could see lowering look. take a look at the difference. upper 50s for places like brookville, where we've been seeing the rain. folks in mazeville, west union, peebles, we're in the upper 50s. it's still pretty nice. 59 in alexandria. batavia, we're at 60 as well as wilmington. areas south and east, will definitely be about 5 degrees warmer than this. we will sink down to 59 degrees, to 11:00, with rain at times. this boundary continues to provide us with rain. occasional rain throughout the overnight period. there's 8:00 tomorrow morning, where we're dealing with a wet commute for the morning. be prepared with the rain gear throughout the day. the area of low pressure continues to bring us more rain as the front accelerates through the area.

widespread rain, oranges indicating more heavy rain. that will be thursday afternoon. and boundaries, allowing the areas to roll in. we will continue to see the breaks still arrives through friday. most of friday is still pretty dry. couple of showers through the morning. a lot of the day, will remain completely dry. that will be a nice break because we will have more rain for the weekend. 65 at noon tomorrow. 60 by 4:00. we see the temperatures drop a bit. 60 on friday with a break with the rain. we'll see a return on sunshine. the weekend does look wet with some thunderstorms as well. daylight savings times begins before you go to bed. tuesday, we're dry and then some more rain on wednesday.

right up, the judge in the case hopes the young people gets the message. this is a senseless drunk driving case. as the man who is responsible for the death, who is sentenced today, there was emotion and a bit of tension in the courtroom. >> tristan lacy pleaded guilty to aggravated homicide. prosecutors say lacy was drunk when he crashed his car the day after christmas. police say he was driving in excess of 100 miles an hour. as he stood before a courtroom packed with family and classmates, lacy apologized to the valentine family. >> mark was not just a best friend. he was a brother. at night, memories of mark and i raced through my head. when i would fall asleep, i'm haunted by nightmares.
